Lately my garry's mod has been acting pretty weird and what i mean by that is that everytime i try to play it instatly closes like i press play on steam ,, then it says running for bit , then nothing it like at the bottom on my screen there is the logo pops up for a second and then instantly closes (same with source film maker by the by ) , i tried looking for an answer in other forums but no luck so far i tried everything from restaring steam ,deleting all my addons , reinstalling G-mod , but nothings seems to be working, i been having this issue for a week so far , any feedback would be apreciated .
Does crashing create an mdmp file in your ~/common/GarrysMod/ directory?
No but i been looking more into it , and ( I forgot to mention this on the front page , sorry ) seems like Avast messes up something related with the hl2 file or something ,
Just as a start maybe try reinstalling steam but have most of the game's that aren't having problems copied onto a usb or saved some how

Oh then copying my games games in USB wont help much ?

Try to verify game cache files after removing Avast
