First off all hello every one. I want to talk about something like this! UPDATED Increased protection for Metal Tier (2x stone) UPDATED Increased protection for Armored tier (2x metal) That perfect for Rust cause raiding is realy is now a days. That will stop people getting wiped out form server. But the thing is doors still sucks! Sheet metal door 250Hp and Armored ones 800. Its doesn't even matter if you make your base Fully Armored tier they will destroy the door and get loot. FacePuch you guys need to fill gap between the doors and walls its should be fit! "Sorry for my bad england! Please correct them"
I don't think the doors is an issue, you can't make it too difficult to raid people and the way it is now is actually forcing people to go though doors a bit.
Its almost always been advantageous to go through doors, especially with the honeycombing. I will say that the wall change is redundant when a sheet metal door is still 1 c4. I used to avoid upgrading past stone because it made no sense to when an armored door and a stone wall takes the same number of c4. I do think doors should have a bit more health so its not forced. armored walls have 2000 health vs the door's 800.
Well yeah... But you know maybe they can add 1kHp door so it will be little bit harder. Maybe ?
Maybe, but then you still have the issue of a door being substantially weaker than the wall. The wall is 2.5x the health of the door when its all armored. Its ridiculous that we have issues like this. I feel like armored doors need to be buffed to have more health, but so do the other doors. Sheet metal doors have half the health of a stone wall. Theres not a good reason to upgrade to sheet metal without the armored door, much less armored.
Mate, this is obviously a prelude to doors being the only viable raiding method, since doors will in the future be protected with lots of traps. So, either you take the easy path through the doors and face possible traps, or you spend the resources to blow through walls. Quit complaining, this makes perfect sense.
It does make perfect sense, but my point is that there is no purpose to upgrading past a certain point when HP is taken into account because the doors have so little health compared to walls. 2000 to 800 hp. While I agree that doors can easily be trapped and it can actually be harder to door raid, the issue still remains that a base is only as safe as the number of doors. You used to be able to honeycomb to all hell, but if you had 5 doors to your loot, its still a 5 c4 raid.
Then rig those doors. Make elaborate pathways leading either nowhere or into traps. Its what I did. Make a funnel, forcing them into a room that is made with the full purpose only of killing them all. I've had hours of fun building a 'killing room' wherein one man can defend his base from a group of raiders. There are ways, believe me.
So...don't have 5 doors to your loot and problem solved? Its like saying that "if you're naked with a rock and he has an AK - its only 1 bullet for you to die!" - so dont be a noob and go get geared, or in case of a base - go get "building knowledge" and learn how to build better? Maybe watch some youtube? Practice on a build-only server?
Man, i made an account just to post this.... get a hammer in your house, go to your front door, hit it ONCE with your hammer to see it go through it really easy, now hit you wall right next to it... it does make a lot of sense a wall being stronger than a door
Just have it so that if you put any door in an ARMORED frame, it doubles the doors health. Wood becomes 400. Sheet becomes 500. Armored becomes 1600. Pros: It still costs HQM to upgrade the doorframe It just works Cons: literally nothing
Cons: Makes no sense? Then someone else going to come complain and say that you gotta do the same now for a metal frame, but at maybe 75% increase, and wood frame too...and so on and so forth...
Don't know what you are talking about. lol
I have tried rigging doors, but there's only so much you can do due to group size and to the time you can invest with the new upkeep system. It's now much harder to do this and to keep the base supplied. We're all working out base defense with the loss of honeycombing, but the point was doors, Particularly the sheet metal door, should get a bit of a health boost now that walls have so much.
US EAST 1 Still getting DDOSed.
I think the main issue solo players and or small groups want to play on a large server where the pop doesn't die on the 2nd day. In my experience that's always been my issue unless I play on an official server for example rustafied / moose.. Okay great finally found a server that won't die. now we face an issue where on these high pop servers there's a lot of 15-30 man Zergs the issue now with all these tweaks to building. For a stone 2x2 honey comb it's a max of 4-5 rockets thru doors.. into core and 12 rockets thru honey comb. if any of you have ever played in a Zerg that's really easy to get... there's no middle ground play on a dead server or get your 2x2 honey combed raided by a 30 min Zerg 4 hours into wipe.
