• Valve removed field for Steamworks API call "GetPublishedFileDetails"
    5 replies, posted
Valve changed the response for their web API "/ISteamRemoteStorage/GetPublishedFileDetails/v1/" yesterday evening. They specifically removed the field "file_url" which I doubt was intentional as it has broken nearly every public workshop downloader tool out there. This field appears to be gone for every steam game that utilizes workshop. Is anybody aware of any information on this or if they know any workaround? Thanks.
You could use steamcmd for it and use workshop_download_item <appid> <PublishedFileId> : download a workshop item
SteamCMD is more and more useful every day. I gave that a go but it seems to timeout with any ID regardless of the OS, network or location. I presume that it also uses the same system that the game servers use here. I dropped that system a long time ago since it was slow, unreliable and often had issues with our DDoS mitigation systems. There has to be a way to get the content apart from downloading it directly via steamcmd/steamclient.so.
Thank you. Fixed.
What's the use of the "v1" in the URL if they change shit anyway?
