(thanks 4 the name ace ur the best) Theme The theme of this arbitrary interval's programming competition is: Stealth! This is pretty much self-explanatory. Duration (IN GMT) Competition Starts: 1st July 2013 Competition Ends: 31st July 2013 (at the end of the day) Voting Starts: 2nd August 2013 Voting Ends: 9th August 2013 (at the end of the day) You need to turn in your game by the end of 1st August 2013 at the latest. You can add bug fixes after your game is complete, but only if the bux fix fixes a game-breaking bug. Marking Scheme Theme [20] - Did it follow the theme? Fun [20] - Was it thrilling, or did you delete it after you got past the menu? Gameplay [10] - Did it handle well, or was it like controlling the helicopters in ArmA II? Art [5] - Was it aesthetically pleasing to the eyes or did it look like garbage? Overall [5] - Overall was it effective or just another video game? Prizes This is a good time to talk about how the prizes will be given out. When the voting ends, the person who wins will get first choice of prize. The second one who wins will get second choice, and so on, until we're out of winners (that won't be too hard). Please don't earmark your prizes for certain winners, as this just complicates things. If you want to add a prize, just post in the thread. - infinity copies of Dota 2 (cartman300, Spero78, ace13, voodooattack) - Natural Selection 2 (Huacati) - Dawn of War 2 (Huacati) - Assorted TF2 junk (Morgy) - Bloody Good Time (Cassel) Competitors - supersnail11 - nomad1 - Spero78 - ace13 - acpm - bobiniki - Adult - Killowatt - twolaces - Jcorp - Foxtrot200 - NinjaWilko - Vbits - dmillerw - Dlaor - Duskling - Morgy - ZenX2 - Rayboy1995 & salmonmarine - Darkwater124 - MallocNull & The Inzuki - GamingRobot32 - Hentie - Mr.Heal - thrawn2787 - Huacati - laserpanda - NightmareX91 - Cassel - Map in a box - eirexe The Rules - You can use whatever language or framework you want. - You can team up if you want. One of the many things I absolutely suck at. Darn.
I'm in
Hello, i'd like to join the competition! Also for the "prizes", i have 18 copies of Dota 2 in my steam inventory and i finally need to get rid of them! :v: I'd suggest them for the last place (I would even pay somebody to take them) [thumb]http://puu.sh/3oSMF.png[/thumb] [editline]26th June 2013[/editline] Hey, umm, what are the rules? EDIT: Is teaming up with somebody allowed?
Can I enter my unity game I started yesterday and posted about in the WAYWO thread? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8mI3cCwulY
Hey, umm, what are the rules? EDIT: Is teaming up with somebody allowed?
Oh yeah. I'll add those. [editline]26th June 2013[/editline]
Can I enter my unity game I started yesterday and posted about in the WAYWO thread? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8mI3cCwulY
I want to say yes, but pretty much every game jam has the rule "can't use a game you've made previously". But the point of the programming competitions is to persuade everyone to actually make a game for once, so I don't know. What do the rest of you guys think?
I'm in!
Another 20 copies of DotA2 Incoming [thumb]http://puu.sh/3oV1d.png[/thumb] Also please sign me up
What do the rest of you guys think?
I guess it's in the rules. :v:
- You can't start your game before the start date. Sorry.

I guess it's in the rules. :v:
I put that there because it's the rule of almost every other game jam. If you guys thought we should allow it, I'd be fine with that.
I put that there because it's the rule of almost every other game jam. If you guys thought we should allow it, I'd be fine with that.
If it was starting today instead of the 1st, I'd be okay with it, but more than a day is too big a stretch.
I'd suggest you to add "- Dota 2 banned" to the rules next time, 38 Dota 2 copies?! Seriousy? EDIT: Or "- No more than 10 copies of Dota 2 for the prize" or something..
I could throw in another 20 copies Not going to though, people will just hate me for it. In other news; I'm going to try contributing more than the name to this contest. So I'm most definitely in.
I'm in, it's about time I did one of these.
Why are these competitions always about making a game programming? I don't make games :(
I am in
Why are these competitions always about making a game programming? I don't make games :(
The next one's probably going to be VM programming, since it seemed to be popular.
Why are these competitions always about making a game programming? I don't make games :(
There had been some discussion about it before. Applications (unless you're making drivers or demos or something :v:) are a lot harder to be creative with, and have a lot less interest here.
There had been some discussion about it before. Applications (unless you're making drivers or demos or something :v:) are a lot harder to be creative with, and have a lot less interest here.
Well I have no creativity otherwise, so I tend to stick with application development :v:
I'll enter when I actually get something done
I'll enter when I actually get something done
Maybe you are doing it wrong? What if you actually got something done just because you joined such a competition?
If it was starting today instead of the 1st, I'd be okay with it, but more than a day is too big a stretch.
Ok, I won't be entering with it then. I'll enter some other contest cause I really like this game and I want to work on it. :v:
i'll give it a shot
Me too.
I'm totes in. Put me down for this thing.
Hey, why not. Sign me up, coach!
I've never made a serious game before, but I've been meaning to learn :v: I'll give it a shot!
Stealth games are my favourite and I suggested this theme so I'm in :v:
I'm in. This time I've already decided on what Engine to use.
I'm in. This time I've already decided on what Engine to use.
Me too, i'll be working with C# and SFML2. I didn't decided yet about the game or how it should look like or anything...
