Hello! I and my group (Power Game Studios) will be creating a multiplayer based game which will probably be wild west styled. If you have played Red Dead Redemption multiplayer or Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West you will know what we are aiming for. We have most of the team recruited apart from an animator, we also have one c++ scripter so you won't be alone. The game engine will be the CryEngine 3 SDK, we will be selling the game commercially and giving CryTek royalties. You of course will also be paid we are aiming for a team of around 10 so each of you would receive about 2% - 5% per sale and if the game succeeds that is a lot of money () for you. The game would probably be released on Steam and Direct2Drive, maybe some others. We have found an indie publisher who has a good reputation and will take our game if it looks good. So back to the main purpose this thread is for, if you are an LUA or C++ scripter that could do this style of game through scripting please get in touch with me through PM or recruitment@powergamestudios.com. Thank you for looking! :downs:
Oh, one of these again. Alright, here's the drill. Before anyone will be interested in helping you we want to see something. Screenshots, concept art, something. Nobody will spend all their time on you if you don't even have anything. It all seems very professional and nice, which is good, but nobody will join out of the blue. And you said it will "probably be wild west themed". Are you saying you don't even know what you are making yet? Also, I'm sorry to say that the lack of punctuation and spelling errors make it less appealing for me...

I'm sorry, is this you?
Ok I have a concept art for one of the characters (please, we don't have a pro artist, I ain't a pro drawer but I'm not a horrible drawer) http://i52.tinypic.com/1zxl0ko.jpg http://oi54.tinypic.com/dpbz3p.jpg First one is obviously female with an level reloaded shotgun that can hold up to ten bullets. Second is male obviously, he is a sniper. Each character would have a special move. @ASGARD, damn I was expecting this look, I know you think a 13 year old would have no sense at all but look, I have been doing loads of things on the PC since age 4, I build websites (e.g. http://www.tombraiderworld.com/phpfusion work in progress) I also have a 19 year old working as boss too, we are like partners, so even if you still doubt me there is someone mature and grown up anyway.
My sides hurt.
His sniper is kind of small. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] Oh, I was looking at the handgun because the picture IS FUCKING HUGE.
Sorry about forgot to resize, the pixels, I change them to links.

Building websites doesn't make you a great team leader and game developer. Things is, and this has been said many times before, you can't just create a indie game like this. Doesn't matter how big your team is. I'm really trying to be helpful here. We have had many threads just like yours and I've never seen one succeed. You would be best of starting to learn programming yourself, start making a small indie game, and if it is a success expand by hiring more people. That's how it works. I don't want to ruin your fun here, I just hate to see another one fall flat on his face like this. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] What will be your role in this project anyways?

I will throw something up quick in the Sandbox and send a picture. EDIT: I have worked with the old Tomb Raider Level Editor and created a full small level.
So... Ideas guy? [editline]4th September 2011[/editline]
I have worked with the old Tomb Raider Level Editor and created a full small level.
Impressive. It's not. Well, seems like you just need to figure this out for yourself. I still wish you the best of luck though!
Here is something I threw up pretty quick in the editor. By changing some settings in one of the engine files I was able to change the cam view to Third Person and switching the first person is possible by pressing F1.
Ok
Yeah, no. With school starting, OP, you won't have time to do this - 6th grade is the most difficult grade ever!
will be creating a multiplayer based game

which will probably be wild west styled.
This is why Asgard posted the way he did. You have arrived at the community, and you're completely unknown, asking for help on a project that hasn't even started, and isn't even defined. That on top of the poor grammar, and complete lack of technological knowledge displayed is enough to steer anyone away (or make them laugh uncontrollably). It all comes across as extremely amateurish, young boy who really wants to make the next big game that's going to make a tonne of money. This is fine, we've all been there, and we've all been mocked for it. From here you should do one of three choices: A) Continue this thread, try to convince everyone that you know what you're doing, and get shot down and laughed at. It's the internet, that's what happens. OR B) Get your shit together, spend a week, working closely with the other core members of the group; planning exactly what it is going to be, writing a design document, and working on fully fleshing out the idea, including basic concept art and whatnot. OR C) Develop your own skills some more, and gain a reputation in the community, spend a year or so making small mods and games, then get a couple of facepunchers (that you've probably created a repoire with) to assist you in making Super Power Gamer Red Dead Lead and Gold Redemption 5000. Most facepunchers are actually happy to jump on these sort of projects when it's just for fun. When promises of money are involved, it's less fun. You're going to find 10 people rather hard to manage btw. Specially if you do finish the game and do manage to market it, and then try and work out the percentage splits.
Thank you. You found the words I couldn't. I'll give you a medal for that.

I know how the back of a computer works about all its components such as RAM, ROM, CPU, GPU etc etc. I also know how to use a bit of photoshop, HTML, CSS (yes I know this really has nothing to do with game dev) etc. I have done things such as dual booting, partitioning and for your information people have paid me to make things for them in my local area. 2) If you had of read the posts properly you would of found out I am not the only person managing this thing. Well, okay, I see your point.

None of those things things are difficult or remotely complicated

I really hope that you'll learn to program in a few years and then see what you used to defend your technological expertees with.
Let me get this straight This is your first time doing anything game development related and you want to make it commercial? Because I don't think anyone ever succeeded doing that, or ever will
Right, whatever, I'm going to discuss with the team.
I thought you came here to kidna- acquire a team..:pwn:
I thought you came here to kidna- acquire a team..:pwn:
Well I have kinda been told to get off and get the idea straight, and then come back... Edit: Please lock this thread as, I don't like talking to ignorant people.
