Im trying to make a Halflife 1 multiplayer mod....

you read the title, im trying to mod HL1. Here's the problem

I have no idea how to mod anything
i thought that goldscr would be a good engine to mod seing as how the server I will be using is a old P4 and source would put to much stress on the weak cpu. also, this is just a simple mod for me and some of my friends to play on the internet or mabye even LAN.
Can someone give me some links/tutorials about how to mod HL1?

Find the newest HL1 SDK. It's not on steam, and never has been.

Also - source will run fine on a P4. P3's still pack enough punch for a half decent server.

How much programming experience do you have? Because modding the Half Life 1 engine is apparently a lot more difficult that modding the Source engine.
