Web Site Software - Developers

OK, I've got an issue. After 4 hours of using wamp my site died. I used a backup and installed xampp to get it backup. But for some reason my PERP2 database for users to be able to register from the server only seems to work on software like wamp. Anyone know a software like wamp but better? I need it to not kill my site every few hours though. Maney have told me IIS is good but I need to know how to set it up.
