Let's assume someone really chill has a nice spyware program.
They don't want to steal credit card information and other things though, in fact, they prefer not to do anything illegal, but somehow they still want to profit.
✓Intercepting Drug Deals (local restrictions, might get shot)
✓Rigging Youtube contests (rare,,, and no one does these)
✓Picking up rare items that are to be placed in hidden locations (rare + local restrictions)
✓Selling Porn access keys (meh...)
✓redirecting Google Adsense pay out checks to vacant houses and picking up the checks and cashing them in anonymously.. (oh wait, thumb ink prints, they did that too me last time, plus this is VERY illegal)
??? any other ideas ???

1)you would still be breaking privacy laws to obtain any of that information. I doubt you would get enough information to intercept a drug deal. I doubt they would be dumb enough to put enough information on a computer to incriminate themselves, especially stuff like meeting times and locations. I'd assume all that stuff is done in person/on the phone.
2)If you had a botnet or something you could rig a youtube contest, but why bother if you have a botnet?

Why would you even make spyware. The one time I managed to get a virus, I contemplated nuking the creator's house. Don't be one of those people. (I don't want to nuke your house.)

no drug dealer would be dumb enough to keep a "drug deals locations and times.txt" on their desktop, and they probably won't be IMing their clients about it. Because of the amount of information that can be retrieved through IM services and from seizing the computers. Like I said earlier, you'd have to be a really dumb drug dealer to do that stuff, and the police will have no trouble building a case with that type of evidence.
And if you live in a city that has some sort of drug cartel presence, will mean that you'll probably be shot and your body destroyed to get rid of the evidence. Not a good way to go. People aren't nice, saying that you have evidence against what they're doing is just more reason for them to kill you.
There's literally no point to it. This type of shit never happens. You rarely see it happen even in movies.

You do realise that unauthorised access into a computer is illegal right? Even if you do manage to get enough information so they can get arrested, good luck using that as evidence without screwing yourself over as well.

Every time one of my friends/family gets their computer infected with spyware and asks me to remove it, they always seem to ask "WHY WOULD ANYONE WRITE SPYWARE ANYWAYS?!".
Next time they ask me this, I'm going to look them straight in the face and say "to stop drug deals".
