• Does this work for a KickStarter?

I want to try setting up a kickstarter for this game I'll be developing. It's a rather large project. I'm slightly confused though because one of the rules says that it can't be a "funy my life" request like "buy a new camera". The thing is, for this project I need a new computer. The $$$ goes towards: Computer (if it can) Lenode VPS costs. (for however long that will run) http://www.kickstarter.com/proposals/guidelines?ref=proposal I guess I don't need an entirely new computer, but the work would get done so much faster with something that doesn't lag every 2 steps. The computer aside, is the Lenode VPS hosting still qualified.
So.. what is the project about? You're not giving any info except "it's a game"
I would say asking for funds to a computer would be prohibited

You will get nowhere by introducing yourself to someone THROUGH a kickstarter project.
I say you should start making the game first, and once you've progressed reasonably far and you can't continue without funds you can start asking for money.

I'm slightly well known... but not well enough [editline]16th December 2011[/editline]
So.. what is the project about? The project is about making the second version of this game come to life.

Sorry but you're making it sound like a huge deal without revealing anything.
Usually kickstarters will have either detailed information on the game or even a proof-of-concept video or demo. The things you mentioned are pretty much standard for any game that has some sort of online account system. Work on a proof of concept on the machine you have, and if it's fun/looks cool people will pledge.
I suggest to read through this: http://indiegames.com/2011/11/the_secrets_of_an_effective_ki.html It tells a lot about what a kickstarter campaing really needs.

My identity here is not politically advantageous
