Hello
I already wanted to start programming for ages, but I never really got around doing it, because I was too lazy and couldn't find the right tutorials. But this time, I want to buy a book, read through it, and start working on iPhone apps with c++ (once I learned c++). So basically what I am looking for now is a c++ book that starts from the very very beginning, explaining everything, so I basically need no knowledge of it whatsoever!
So, can anyone recommend me such a book?
I already found one for iPhone coding (here), but it requires c++ knowledge.
I am really thankful for every answer that is coming!
Objective C is not C++.

And if you don't know the language at all, then I'd say forget about making iPhone apps until you actually know the language decently.
I saw someone programming in objective c. It looks very icky.
objective-c is awful, give up iphone programming
Iphones are suppose to support flash shortly, so you may want to just learn action script 3.0
I think most iPhone developers are either new to programming or are experienced programmers looking for a challenge (masochism).

Other way around. Flash is supposed to support the iPhone and be able to export the flash as an "application" for it. :v:
So you say I shouldn't even think about it?

Yes objective c is a really shitty language to program in, in my honest opinion. It's much more cluttered than C++ and C#.
I think you can write iPhone apps in C++ for jailbroken devices but I don't know for sure.
I wouldn't start developing in Objective-C for iPhones unless you want to make money with it.

That is a yes. I have a jailbroken iPhone and you can download and use the little developer tools. The jailbroken iPhone even has Java support. :v:
and this is an example of why i hate apple

Perfect example. :)
That and they just generally treat their developers like crap.
iPhone/iPod touch are huge ripoffs anyways, who thought of that crap like not being able to insert any sd card or change the battery?
