i have thought forever about using programming as a science project i can use for my science fair in school. the thing is, my school isn't like others. all of our science projects have to be measurable and testable, which sucks ass. last year i came up with a project that involved minecraft and how much tnt in a tnt cannon affects how high it blasts the player. it got declined. so i'm pushing it a bit further and taking it to a programming level. i'm really stumped on this one, because everyone is telling me i shouldn't do a project i talked about doing (how does the position of the moon relative to the earth affect how much an object with a constant mass weighs on earth). i was thinking of using it with lua, or maybe torque script, which is a programming language for the torque engine similar to C#. i also know some python as well. i tried looking up "measurable and testable programming science projects" but i got no useful results. do you guys have any ideas?
You could still use programming as a centre piece and please your school coordinators by doing some form of simple robotics project - does your school have any LEGO NXT's lying around perhaps? maybe you could experiment with an Arduino.
In sixth grade, for a science fair, I compared the speeds of different programming languages. No one wanted to talk to me about my presentation ;_;
how does the position of the moon relative to the earth affect how much an object with a constant mass weighs on earth
I like this idea. Use unity3d.
