We have a pretty icky but still functioning myBB forum DB that is pretty much duct taped together from various fuck ups and imports from other software. I'm thinking of cleaning it out and get things squeaky clean. Problem being I have no idea how to work with this stuff. I remember we used expressions in the find & replace section of notepad++ to clean it up once. But I'm figuring there is other/better software to work with large complex DBs like this So far its about 13 MB and has things left over from phpBB and SMF forums and a few glitchy bits hanging around that I don't know how they happened. I don't think there is any reason for our DB to get up to 13 MB though, that is insane. Is there anything that Facepunch can recommend?
How many posts/users/threads does it have?
Our members have made a total of 15,668 posts in 1,686 threads. We currently have 240 members registered. http://www.almost-there.org/forums/stats.php Still needs optimizing though
13MB is pretty normal for that size.
15MB is pretty normal for that size.
yeah but like I said there is still a lot of crap left over that needs out.
Concerning your original question, there's always phpMyAdmin. If you're looking for a desktop application I've heard HeidiSQL is pretty good.
heidiSQL looks pretty cool, the problem I think I'm going to have is figuring out what is what and what belongs in the DB and what doesn't
