Steam Compare Games (beta!) - A new webapplication to find games you and your friends have in common
11 replies, posted
Over the past few months, I've been working on and (mostly) off on this. It's very simple, it scans your STEAM profile and lets you select your friends, and then check what games you and your friends have in common, sorted by which ones most of you have in common etc.
This is particularly useful when at LAN's or sitting and gaming with your friends, and wondering what games you all have that you can play.
Features include:
* Log in with either your community ID or via STEAM's OpenID interface (through steampowered.com)
* Automatically scans your STEAM for games you and your friends own, and compares them
* Shows the ones with most people in common on the top
* Filtering by game elements (as "Multiplayer", "CoOp", "Controller enabled" etc.)
Try it out! If you can, try to break it. It's still very beta, but I'd like all the feedback/testing that you can do. :)

Works fine for me? http://www.jalsoedesign.net/websystems/steamcomparegames/76561198020317127
It only shows games that you have - the icons it shows are just the ones you have in COMMON with your friends. At the moment, you cannot see games that all your friends have, but that you don't.

oh
My Steam ID is 1 digit too high
The one its showing? I might have gotten the algorithm wrong - what's your community ID? (copy the URL of the link on your own name)
You know steam has this built in, right?
It does? Can you show me how, because I've never seen it..
"Friends" section of any Steam game in your list, e.g.: http://steamcommunity.com/id/JWall/friendsthatplay/105600
So according to that, I might as well ask my friends "do you have Terraria?" "No", "Okay, do you have MW3?", "Yes", "what about".. and the list continues. This was supposed to be a quick tool to find out, without having to go on each game individually or ask around :)
