Figured this is a good place to ask.
Looking to run a website. Similar search functionality and design to sites such as futhead.com, although more professional.
Does anyone know how much a job like this would cost me or where I could look for someone to do this.
It'll likely be priced on the time it takes to create, in hours.
You need to create a brief that explains what needs to be done with the website to make it in your vision, and then the developer can assess how long it will take for them to complete it to your standard, with their hourly rate.
(basically it depends on what you want)
That is alot of functionality, seems rather expensive for a site that only does that..
How are you going to make in the money again, on commercials ?
In that case you would need quite the following, keep in mind if you do CPM commercials it will give you around 5$ pr 1000 views, for actually being eligible for this you need like 3k visitors each month atleast.
now lets say it will cost you around 10-20k $ to make this with programmers that is 2-4 million views to make your money back.
(as far as i can see futhead does around 80k a month for comparison).

I might be exagurating the numbers but think about it, you already got a site which does the same you want, then you want to directly compete with a brand already established.
My conclusion is learn to program make your own stuff for free, and you wouldnt have to do this kind of math, if your rich ofc none of this should matter :)

I had no idea it would be that expensive to be honest.
The idea is that there is a small gap in the market I noticed when using said market myself. I believe this could fill that gap and be fairly successful.
It actually wouldn't be a competitor, nor would it have anything to do with video games at all. I like some of the features of FUT and believe they would work well incorporated into other sites, especially the comparison elements of it.
I wonder what kind of timeframe one could expect to create a website with a search function similar to that of FUT?
I have tried myself to create a website but I have particular trouble just getting the layout correct.

Well the price is just for what ive heard people taking for similar jobs, for example my friend wanted a copy of kickstarter, ended up costing him 15k $ and he never had the skills to work out the marketing and all that jazz, so it was just a very expensive website with no use.
The timeframe for something like that which actually has smaller funtionality was around 3 months as far as i remember.
This was an american company which leased programmers from india.

Yeah if you do some of the work yourself, guess OP didnt care if it actually costs money though ;)
