GTA IV is a fantastically moddable game. If you have it, I highly recommend experimenting with it. Resources - ASI Loader - this is needed for loading mods - C++ ScriptHook - adds bindings for C++ - ScriptHook.net - allows you to write addons in .net languages - Alice - lua bindings - GTA Modding Wiki - Deruu's link - some kind of function search thingy. Feel free to show your GTA IV mods here, or to link to some resources that you think might be handy. I'll get the ball rolling with my Train Mod (which I posted in the What are you working on thread):
I've been working on a quick little mod for GTA IV that allows the player to drive trains. If anyone's interested, I'll post a download.
As I just posted in the What are you working on thread, This is a video of a mod I've been working on, IV: Co-Op. It simply demonstrates how I am currently planning to emulate the other player's presence in the game with a clone-mode I coded that copies the player's position and heading then sets it on the clone car. Just to make sure the message gets through, THERE IS NO ACTUAL MULTIPLAYER SUPPORT AT THIS TIME. Anyway, without further ado: More information can be found in the description.. a lot more.

I remember doing some GTA IV modding really simple, just applying a certain force/rotation on button press. Actually this is what got me into programming again
The flips are awesome
Hydraulics on steroids.
I think some sort of manual driving w/ clutch system would make a cool addon... [editline]11:20AM[/editline] With a little shift knob on screen :D
If only there was a SA:MP equivalent for GTA IV.
If only there was a SA:MP equivalent for GTA IV.
Someone was working on their own netcode for iv but i can't seem to find it. [editline]04:32PM[/editline]
If only this was possible for the 360 :sigh: How am I dumb? I know it isn't >_>
yeah how about no
The ASI Loader listed in OP doesn't seem to be downloadable atm. Confirm? [editline]07:05PM[/editline] Just me, it's working again.

[editline]11:20AM[/editline] With a little shift knob on screen :D
Thinking of it now the left trigger (on 360 controller for windows) could be the clutch, and to get it going in fort you have to lift the clutch slowly, and the brakes could just be the top button. That would be so fucking amazing, the trigger have perfects sensitivity for that... Edit: No no, the right trigger could be gas, the left trigger clutch, top button shift up/down, x brake, a handbrake... Oh man I fucking want it.
If only there was a SA:MP equivalent for GTA IV.
There was a development for it with the original sa-mp/vc-mp team. They even had a site up for a while, pretty sure they took it down because there wouldn't be that big of a player base due to the crazy requirements gta4 needs.
When I get back this afternoon I'll see if I can start working on a small MP beta for my mod. It'll still look like shit, but at least a second player should be included in the looking like shit process.
I wanna download This Mod but I have no idea how to install it. last time I tried The game kept crashing. I had to reinstall GTA 4. The game is ok now, but How do I install this Mod?

I'd get into IV modding but I have a crappy laptop that runs it on lowest settings @ 5 FPS. :sigh:

GTA IV mods aren't really stable for me, gta crashes a lot (randomly), and sometimes asi plugins don't work properly :(
the whole game isn't stable
