• Which do you think is better, java or c++?

Alright, so I've been learning php and html for a while, and learning some crap languages that i will never need and creating scripting languages in said crap languages. So now, I want to go back to real programming. (I'll still do php and crap though) So, which do you think would be better? I already have good experience with both, it's just a matter of which one to do. I have about a dozen books on each language, although most of them for java are intro books(one game programming one) and a couple intro c++ books and a around 6 game programming books. Normally, I would completely go for C++ because I want to do game programming and I know the syntax better then java. But the thing is, I want to make some money, and an easy way would be making Android apps, which is done in java. (That and I already have eclipse installed and no c++ compiler installed) So FP programmers, which do you think I should go for?
If you want to make money Java for Android apps.
 not again
Alright. /thread [editline]10:11PM[/editline]
 not again
What happened last time?
If you know one, the other is about an hour worth of experimentation and documentation on the differences away anyway. Go with Java for your android apps.
also Java is very portable, it would take minimal effort to move things you code in Java from one platform to another.
also Java is very portable, it would take minimal effort to move things you code in Java from one platform to another.
Well, no effort to be more precise. If the OS has a functioning Java VM then your Java program will work with it.
Java is becoming more popular nowadays, but C++ is a MAN's language, which is hardcore, Java is difficult as well, but idk... for gaming and things right now C++ is the way to go, buuuuuuuuuuut just learn both, it will be extra beneficial.

C++ wasn't powerful enough so I went to Visual Basic
Two completely different languages. Might as well ask if chairs are better than tables.
chairs, definitely
chairs being java right?
What about good old comodopoc?
chairs, definitely
But I can sit (and sleep :P) on/under tables :D
chairs being java right?
You can't compare chairs to java, that's like comparing cars to trucks.
What about good old comodopoc?
What about you trolling? Anyways, it works, but sadly the people over at the comodo forums are more retarded then some people here.

(not to that extent, of course...)
You can't compare chairs to java, that's like comparing cars to trucks.
You can't compare comparisons, that's like comparing ... wait a minute!!
C++ wasn't powerful enough so I went to Visual Basic
Will you do me a favour and build a gui to track the killers IP?

Don't forget to use visual basic
