Ok so I just joined Crafthub.net about a week ago and Guard and Me have been running the site pretty good. Well the Minecraft Halloween update comes around and we get hit with 9k unique IP's on that one day alone. Now we pretty much got kicked from his shared hosting because of some reason I do not know but right now we are being hosted on a dedicated server that the Minecraftfourm.net owner offered us. Well he gave us 200GB bandwidth and that is not enough. We have already used about 29% in the past 3 days and I don't think we are going to last that long. Well they said we would have to pay for the bandwidth which might be $200 a month.

The site has no ads up right now but that will change soon. But right now I feel as though we can buy a good dedicated server to host the website and also run all of our Minecraft servers. So this is where I need your help. I am not very good at finding a good server host and really don't want to end up buying some crappy one that crashes every other day. If you guys could help us out and recommend us a host then that would be great. It would helps us out a a lot and Guard and everyone else who writes for craft-hub would be grateful.
Couple things I am looking for is that the servers needs to have enough bandwidth that we can host both our site + a forum, Two Minecraft servers, and a teamspeak. Also we would need 3 or more IPs for the server. But that is all. If you have any question don't hesitate to ask. Thanks.
You could get a D9 vps from x10, which should be plenty for what you need. You can get 2 more IPs for $2 extra a month.
Also a 200 GB limit is pretty low.

I use the D7 from them and it's enough to host my minecraft server, a radio station, and a couple of websites.
Good VPS providers:

A decent VPS should be able to sort you out perfectly.
Aside from Fanatical VPS (which I own), I highly recommend Linode's (http://linode.com/) services, they're excellent.
One thing you'll need to consider with a VPS/server is you'll have to setup everything by yourself, although it's relatively easy with cPanel, you still have to secure the server, you might want to look at a managed solution if that's not your thing.
Also, love the avatar compwhizii :)

Right now I think I do a pretty good job with the Minecraft server I run for crafthub.net. When you say "secure the server" do you mean not having things running in root? Or are you talking about something else?

All servers need securing, if you're going down the cPanel route I highly recommend installing CSF, which has a GUI for cPanel and is an excellent firewall and provides recommendations on how to further secure your server. It's also only 3 commands to install :)

Hello I was thinking of hosting a minecraft server cheaply and was wondering if anyone using x10vps is going to object to me getting a B5 vps or would I need more ram?
With that kind of traffic (10k visitors) and google ads you could be making at least $20 a day..maybe as much as $60.
Don't believe me? Try it out and you'll see.
With $20 a day you could just get an awesome Dedicated server.

Google ads has not accepted us yet. Once we get accepted we will be putting them up right away.

I thought you get auto-accepted?

It has been 3 days since we applied. Don't think they do.

No, they don't.
You have a sweet assed site! looks ace. you should really monetize your site! I found an affiliate network that had a banner that you place on a page you got paid $1.50 per unique i.p and $40 if they signed up through your site. It was a dating site but you got paid $1.50 per person that saw the advert, but once it has peaked the advert'd income dies. a.k.a you make $12,000 then the advert is just taking up real estate! not really a longterm strategy. I would recommend going with a smaller "Adsense" company instead of actual "Google Adsense" the smaller companies are usually nicer, easier to manage, show you detailed income and normally pay upto 50% more than the bigger companies.

Please do be careful with Google adsense, if you have repeatative users coming back to your site, google classes it as "Invalid Activity", I think its bullshit but my account got cancelled because the same i.p address where the ones visiting my site. :crying:
