Grab a non-expiring Unity 3d 3.x IOS/Android license now, its free...

Well I figured I'd post this here because some of you might be interested, and I searched and didn't see it posted(my apologies if it already was).
Unity technologies is doing a promotion/deal sort of thing where you can get a permanent license for their android/ios game engine(would normally be $800 together) for free, that doesn't expire(although the window of time in which you can grab the license for free is now until April 8th). I think Autodesk or a similar company did the same thing some time ago with some of their software?
How to get it: go to http://www.unity3d.com click on store... choose a base license of unity free, then add on free Andriod and IOS publishing... Should be self explanatory.
Unity3d is an easy to use, and in my opinion, decently featured game engine. As far as coding goes it supports C#, (altered)Javascript, and Boo(although next to nobody uses Boo).
Here are some pros/cons of the engine in my opinion(your results may vary):
+Easy to get started with, without sacrificing too much in the way of power.
+Relatively inexpensive(or in this case free).
+Multiple supported platforms -- Andriod/IOS, Standalone mac/pc, web, current gen consoles.
-No full engine source code access... Well at least not with the standard licensing options.
-Doesn't support some of the newer fancyschmancy stuff engines like UDK do, say for instance DirectX 11
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks a bunch!
It's kind of weird how it still asks for a billing address. Oh well.

Thanks!
That you for pointing this out, it's awesome :D
Also worth to note that the Autodesk-type company you're probably talking about it is Daz, they offered Daz Studio 4, Bryce and Hexagon for free. I think the offer is still valid.
Thanks for the tip mate, much appreciated!
Thanks for letting us know!
Thats great! Thanks!
There's also this offer right now that niuke commented on:

Never heard of it, but it's currently free so why not. :v:
Thanks, very useful indeed.
Coolio

Grabbed a key, cheers!
Thanks a lot.
What exactly can you do with these licenses (IOS specifically)? Can you publish apps to the appstores freely or what? Or is this just unity giving you their engine to use freely for your apps with publishing still a fee on the appstore?
Actually it turns out you can just keep buying keys for free.
Well then.
Really? I think I might get 1 or 2 more, in that case

You might want to be careful though, Unity might disable the keys if people start selling them or something (Not sure if you can with these though).
Yep, you can order infinite times with a maximum quantity of 50.

I don't know why you'd want to do that.
The best thing that can happen is that you have a ton of worthless unused licences and the worst is that they disable every one.
Thanks! Grabbed a key, not sure if I'm going to use it, but its free so why not.
Used it :)
Maybe you can sell them later?
Is this Daz3D basically the same thing as Poser?
or is it more like 3dMax/Maya?
Aldo do you register it or do you just download it?
This is fuckin awesome
Would love to mess around with C# on iOS and Android

I got that about 20 times before getting the license. Just press F5 and resend the data.

You don't have to pay them anything to publish for PC/Mac, iOS and Android (for now), if there are any additional fees to be paid that's on the Appstore or Android Market (which I'm not sure you have to pay something to get your app there). What I'm saying is that the Unity free licenses let you publish and sell your games with no fees required, all they ask is that after a certain amount of profit you buy the Pro licenses (which have some quite handy features). But believe me, if you ever made the profits they require to buy a Pro license you'd be swimming in money :v:

IIRC, it's $99 a year for iOS, and [del]$20 per app[/del] $25 once on Android, or something like that.
What a ripoff (the iOS one I mean) :v:
