Next year at school we will learn Pascal :v:
I know it's preety obsolete, but can it still be useful for something ?
You can virtually use it for anything that you could implement in binary.
Most programming languages are universal, it's just the matter whether they make stuff easy or not. And 'easy' can depend on the person using it, since some like paradigm A, while others feel more comfortable with paradigm B.
Pascal isn't a bad language, and you might learn some useful things. There are a few dialects and implementations of (Object) Pascal, such as Delphi, Oxygene and FreePascal, all of which can be used to create modern and performant applications.
If you learn how programming languages work etc you can switch to other, more modern language more easily.
oh also pascal isn't pretty obsolete i hear about it pretty commonly.
I think Pascal is best for making bots.
I had to use Pascal for my first year of college, it was a good way to get the concepts of programming. I've just started my 'major project' in Delphi this year, it has everything you need to produce a pretty decent program but now when I look at most other languages they make much more sense since learning Pascal.
It's Turing complete, therefore it can do anything any other language can do.
