CMS/CMF - What's your favourite? Share your experience!

For my most recent projects, I've tried out some of those out there and many of them are really good. I made this thread as I'm sure there are people here both with and without experience. I kind of wanted to make a list, so suggestions and feedback would be great.
I've added 2 I know is pretty nice to work with, and which probably is the most common ones.

A custom CMS. Best experience. 100% customisable.
Maybe you're right. I suck at back-end scripting though. My website security would suck compared to a complete CMS. I've custom coded a lot of websites before and I like it, I just don't get it to be secure enought.
Joomla!
Forgot about Drupal, added it to the list.
Most of the work I've done hasn't justified using an existing CMS over a custom solution - the flexibility and ease-of-use offset the extra work.

I know what you mean. I usually make portfolios and galleries. Most CMS usually are very hard to customize completely, but for other things it's useful. I kind of with there was a framework which is made for the security only, so I can do all the front-end easier. :saddowns:
Pixie is p. cool but I don't really use a CMS.
lightcms master race
WordPress for blogs, normally custom for other sites.
A question, as I started to think about it anyway, is there a really basic CMS-like system that works just for logins and comment systems? CMS might be the wrong word for it, but maybe some kind of framework for it?

Though I wouldn't recommend it.
And there was Chyrp, which seems to be abandoned.
Also, look for flatfile CMS's, they're mostly pretty basic.
WolfCMS is excellent.

Not that easy to learn at first but it's very customisable.
I really like Drupal, but it's the only one I have experience with.

I think that kind of editing that it offers when it's setup correctly would be nice.
Plone seemed impressive, but it's some strange installer and not php. Do not want.
And it requires more than just a webhosting account. Good idea, really lame execution.

It's been so long since I last heard of that.

The installer is quite handy when you learn how to use it because it isn't just an installer. You can make all the needed application skeletons with it for example.
And yes, finding a host for Plone is quite hard. At work we have our own servers so we don't have to worry about that though.
Whats a CMS and a CMF?

Content Management System
Content Management Framework
I've been using Concrete5 on client sites lately.

I've heard about Concrete5 before but I never really looked into it. It actually looks pretty useful. How is it when working with dynamic data, like outputting the last few entries in the database?
I've really only been using it on brochure style sites where clients just need an easy way to edit page content.
I see. Maybe that's why I never tend to find a CMS that fits my purpose. Works for clients though. :v:
Take a look at expression engine. I haven't tried it yet but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Expression Engine seems nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the $99+ for a license, atleast not for myself.

I swear there is/was a free version of EE, not sure how limited it is though, I hate using software with paid upgrades.
MODx is nice but if you have slow connection with your host, the admin panel is rather annoying to use.
