• Prevent mass spamming?

Hey guys, have a reseller account through hostgator.com Now here is my problem, the server got bombarded by emails from hosts in Brazil. And all emails got stopped sending/receiving For those that know, hostgator uses cpanel. I have spam assassin set up at 5. That didn't work and so I setup spam auto-delete and blacklisted all those domains. What other steps can I take to prevent the mail getting stopped again, its not me, its a client site, I'm getting verbally raped.
Blacklist every Brazilian IP
Use Google Apps.
Blacklisted all the sites that were involved, anything coming from those domains is instantly killed. Google Apps for email? As far as I can tell, it costs money Hopefully that stops it

What spam list do you have setup? Are you using http://www.spamhaus.org/ blacklist?
http://www.google.com/a/cpanel/domain/new Doesn't look like it costs money to me.
Well I'll have to keep it in mind, any link I went to from google said it cost $50 bucks an account. Just so you know what I mean by mass spamming, I got the email log, the domain received 1.5 million (yes million) denied emails in 12 hours
Well, I don't know if this will help, but what I do is create two emails. One is a forward email, and one is a real email. The forward email sends everything to the real email. I sign up using the forward email, everywhere. Then if I get a message, it sends it to my real email. So I get spam, I can just delete the forward email, and make a new one. It's a bit of a hassle having to change the email you used to sign up, everywhere, but it's the best anti-spam thing I could make, myself.

So this option won't work. Hopefully everything is fine now, I've totally blocked all email from domains in brazil and india. Ever opened a 864MB text file? God damn

Takes forever to load. I thought my computer would break.
My bad man, what kind of text file was over 1 gig?
A list of words to censor on vbulletin. From looking at it, I mostly saw prescription med names.
Propecia cialis xenical Acomplia herbal phentermine zimulti Rimonabant singulair pamelor adoxa pamelor LowCostLinks modafinil mori celiac okoboji oxycontin meticorten sirve mestinon
to name a few. Just stuff to block advertising on your site.
nice, yeah vbulletin is a major target for spam, been there done that
Any decent text editor should be able to open arbitrarily large files. It's only an fseek and fread for god's sake. Most of them load the entire file into memory first
