• Windows VPS/Shared?

Hi! I'm working on a project for a few weeks now in ASP.NET and it's all been working fine and dandy locally, but now I need a server for everything. The problem is that I've never owned a Windows VPS/Shared server before and I'd like some recommendations if someone got experience. I can see that a windows VPS could be quite expensive so I'm good with a shared hosting service for now. Halp
Well, there's a serial key usually.
which is usually single use, and won't work with Windows server edition. :pseudo:
Have fun with IIS
Hahaha IIS. [editline]16th February 2011[/editline]
lol
Son of a bitch.
If you have a windows PC, just look on the bottom/side depending on if it's a laptop or a desktop.
You are a dope.
I'm pretty sure you can host ASP junk on Linux with Mono. [editline]16th February 2011[/editline] This will open up 99.9999% of the VPS market for you. You're welcome.
You can install Apache and run Apache::ASP http://www.apache-asp.org/ And it's not single use, or I couldn't have reinstall windows.
Just please, google something before you pretend to know about it.
Not that, everything else. The reason you could reinstall windows was because that key was made for that version, running windows 7 * edition would be fucking retarded for a server environment.
You can install Apache and run Apache::ASP http://www.apache-asp.org/ And it's not single use, or I couldn't have reinstall windows.
HOW ARE YOU SO DUMB Ughhh
HOW ARE YOU SO DUMB Ughhh
He's supersnail's alt. 'Nuff said.
I don't pretend to know about it, I googled "Apache ASP" and that came up.
that's asp classic you shit head (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Hexxeh))
so what's the version that you use?
ASP.Net
So what's the version that you use?
He said that in OP.
The OP is by Awwent, not turb.
Who's Turb?
Who's Turb?
pro ruby dev, Venice Queen, casual ruby dev, and the list goes on.
Why doesn't Facepunch have a rule against multiple accounts?
Why doesn't Facepunch have a rule against multiple accounts?
It does :ssh:
It does :ssh:
Not really, bans are meant as a warning, to tell you that you did something wrong so you can learn from it. Unless you really screw up, or fail to learn and get banned over and over again, you can always freely register another account. Turb's offence was leaking GMF content (and several other small bans), which caused the mods to permaban his main account. I've seen many members come back after an offence like that (PhilXYZ as an example).
so what's the version that you use?
I use ASP.NET MVC 3
Unless perma'd, no.
Wrong. You're allowed to make alts if you're perma'd, unless stated otherwise.
Wrong. You're allowed to make alts if you're perma'd, unless stated otherwise.
Oh. I just thought that's what the "Alt of Permabanned User" bans meant.

The Windows key on your computer/laptop will only work on your computer/laptop's motherboard. These key's can not be used on other computers. They're called OEM key's.
The Windows key on your computer/laptop will only work on your computer/laptop's motherboard. These key's can not be used on other computers. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] It used to have XP but now it has linux, I didn't pirate it.
Oh. I just thought that's what the "Alt of Permabanned User" bans meant.
Alt of permabanned user is always a valid ban reason, but if you're behaving yourself, the mods don't care.
