What Are You Not Working On Because You Need Art August 2012 - Developers

[img] http://filesmelt.com/dl/WAYWAYONBANY.png[/img] I suggested this in the WAYWO thread and it got a moderately good reception so decided to make it and see if people were interested. Basically, this is a thread to request art for your game/program and for others to fulfill those art requests to for fun, practice, or whatever. This thread will be important for getting art done for games and almost equally important for those looking to advance from their shoddy programmer art and get constructive critique from other artists. Try to provide as much specific info for your request as possible such as art style, size, perspective, etc. Another plus is the thread has a great acronym, WAYNWOBYNA. Also, I will be editing the OP as this thread advanced and I see how everything works out. Please feel free to do others requests as even if you think you arent good at art, understanding it will most likely be helpful for making games and less so, programs, in the future.

Awesome thread idea. I'll start things off: I would like a nicer splash screen and/or logo for Pseudo Wire! If someone needed art for their project they would probably have more luck in the CC. There's a lot of talented folks there that probably don't check here.

Okay, so you didn't specify much but I tried. [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/PsuedoWireNoBar.png[/img] and then did a version with a bar on the bottom for if you wanted to display tips or something there at start up. Thought that might be cool. I feel like this thread could be helpful though for programmers to also try their own hand at art.

I kind of like that ribbon idea. Might create an animation for loading.

How about wires drawing the name and logo as it loads?

You should post a thread in CC with a explanation and a link leading to this thread. So more people know about it.

The model section too, there's lots of talented people there but it seems a bit rude to just go in there and request things.

You seem to be stating your problem but if you are requesting art please try to provide more info such as sizes, type of art, perspective, color, etc. Going to post in the CC now.

I guess it's a low priority request, I've put some placeholder sprites in right now. for up down left right, static ones. (because i dont know how to do animated textures in unity... ¬_¬) If anyone wants to make prettier 4 direction sprites... the dimensions are 48x24 portrait.
