PHP webpage linking (need help)

Hey, basically, I want to have a list that will automatically update itself on any page it's on as soon as I add a new game.

My website is a game website, if you go on a game, all the other games with the same first letter appear at the side of the page. Currently I use a flash file for this but I want to use a PHP script instead.

(this is what my brother has tried to do so far, I'm not sure if it's needed or not)
Place a folder in a directory named after the game, the directory will contain the game and its webpage, this folder will then appear at the side bar of the page as a link to the games page. So if I add a game called "hello" it will be in a folder called "hello", inside the folder will be a file called "hello.swf" and another file called "index.html"

Soryy if its confusing to understand but I cant think of how to describe it easily.
All help is greatly appreciated and I won't be replying for a litle while as I'm going out.
