I've been updating this old project of mine lately because I'll be getting a new computer soon and I don't want to lose all my custom sound events for windows.
Well, then I thought, maybe someone else would like this. So here ya go guys.
UPDATED TO VERSION 2.1
What is it?
This little program is a utility to help you better manage and share your Windows sound schemes by allowing you to import, export, edit, and merge them all from one spot.
Features?
Registry Backup: You can easily backup the registry at any time and the program will encourage you to do so on startup if it doesn't find any of it's own backups.
Export: You can export an entire sound scheme and the program will gather all the sound files and place them into one nicely structured folder.
Import: You can open an Exported sound scheme easily.
Merge: You can easily merge two sound schemes together.
The dialog for Import, Export, and Merge allow you to pick and choose which sounds you would like to keep or avoid.
What does it look like?

What platform does it work on and what do I need to run it?
The program was written with C# and requires .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 or higher on Windows XP.
Reports are that it works under Windows Vista and Windows 7, however the UAC may ask you to let the program edit the registry, create folders, and copy files.
I think that covers everything. I'm interested in your feedback and any bugs you find.
Download:
Here's the program itself

Change Log:
2.1
- Added ability to set working directory.
- Added ability to associate .wss files with the program.
- Fixed a bug that would not load the currently selected sound scheme properly on the first run.
- Fixed a bug where names would display as dll references in Vista and Windows 7.
2.0
- Don't remember anything past this...
Thanks for your time.
Nice
Holy shit this sounds kind of really useful
Working on 7.
It opens under vista, I haven't had a chance to mess around with it yet, so I don't know if it functions correctly.
If it's working under 7 I don't see any reasons for it to fail under Vista.
Thanks for the feedback so far.
Thought it was a professional program (and not an Indie) program when I first looked at it.
looks cool :D
:iia:
Somebody should create an online database where people can upload their schemes.
That would be neat, but there might be issues with copyrights on the sound files.
Although, I know of a few places where you can find sound made to be used as a sound scheme... If one were so inclined, one could use those...
I made another sound scheme for anyone interested. This one is Battlefield 2142 themed.

Anyone else is welcome to post their schemes, I'm willing to add them to my first post if you'd like.
