Hear out this Advertising tactic

I have no idea why this is hitting me so late.
AdF.ly is a site like bit.ly
Except when adf.ly forwards you, you go to an ad first and then you have the option to carry onto the link.

I'm a freaking web developer... what if I just set up a Google ads account then make k8r.us my personal link forwarder with ads before the actual destination link?

How long does google 'want' those ads to be on the page? Should I do the annoying "open in new tab" tactic? (javascript to do it automatically right?)

What other details about adsense should I keep an eye out for?

Any suggestions about how my ad page should look? I'm slapping something together right now.

I'm thinking googleAds+yourOwnMiniForward is the better way to go right now because AdF.ly feels like small time payout. Adsense is renowned as one of the best public means of earnings via ads. Any input on this theory?

Its for my personal use. That way I receive more profit... Rather than working through AdF.ly

This isn't a service I give out to other people. These are shortlinks with ads for my own personal use.

Tell me this. Do you think it would pay out more to work through AdF.ly or to develop something with AdSense?

Do you really post enough links to actually generate any kind of significant profit by doing that? I bet the time you spend setting it up won't really be worth the payout to be totally honest with you.

Look at what AdF.ly is... then look at how it can be duplicated with yourOwnSite+googleAdsense

I share a lot of links across multiple mediums. All these links are shortened. I might as well shorten them with my own link compressor that injects some advertising.

Which is quite an earning over nothing when you already have to shorten your links anyway.

Are you just trying to increase your page impressions? IE. -> User Clicks abbreviated link -> Temp page with ad -> Redirected to appropriate page?

If so I don't agree with that philosophy. What's wrong with the traditional method of having modest ads in your page?

They aren't ad-links on a website. Just shared links via forums, twitter and other small things like that.

I'm going to assume google has beef with tricking people into clicking ads...

For example, my little ad page will have "click here to continue" on the left most of the time and the ad on the right... but every once in a (random chance of 1 in 100) the ad and continue Button will switch sides (not right before the user clicks, but when the page actually loads) this way if you have a series of links (let's say your doing a porn dump on a porn site) they will make a habit of going left and clicking continue and then eventually slip up.

And then google will terminate your account.

This will not make you $150 a month unless you have a hell of a load of people clicking on them, which I'm guessing you won't as it's for personal use.

Presenting people with a blank page which contains ads only is forcing people to click them / forcing their attention on them. Google adSense bans people who do that. Also your site has to be reviewed by someone before it's approved in the adSense program, and something like this would never be approved.

It's a personal URL shortener.
Not a personal page.

It's like adf.ly or linkbucks... but you are switching out the middle man

advertisers > adf.ly > you
advertisers > Google Adsense > you

instead of adf.ly's link banner, you'd make your own link banner with google ads.

Why switch the middle man? Because one of them may pay better.
