Live2Die is a little top down shooter i have been working on for the last few months.
It is part of a college assignment which i have now handed in therefore I have decided to let you guys have a go with it.
Some vids i made during development: warning the flamethrower noise is rather loud and ear raping, i suggest you turn your speakers down.

It uses XNA 3.1 so you will need at least the 3.1 distributable.
here it is

Graphics and UI could be better, but it's alright.
No offense but over the years I've seen about 50 million zombie TDS's.
At least 30 million of those looked quite a bit better than this one. Hell, I'm guilty of making one myself.

As i said this was part of an assignment therefore the aim is to create a working game not the next COD

So you're assignment was specifically to create a zombie TDS? How odd but for some actual constructive criticism, I think you should go for a more realistic and darker look like in the link in my above post unless they're placeholders.

No any game really, could have been a 3D game if we were up to it.
I just went for Zombie TDS because i was into that at the time :v:
Also its meant to be abit more comical than sinister, hence the silly sprites and all
Simple, but looks like it has a lot of potential. Make a procedural level generator, add barricades and more weapons, needs, you might be on to something.

Then you may want to change the menu and opening scene because they have a good realistic and dark look so going from that to the actual game is a little disappointing.
Looks like something made in game maker.
I used to make shit like this when I was 11!

you still are

do i know you
That is pretty terrible, sorry to say.
How cute, he even has his own 'production company'.
OP, it actually looks like some stable base for a game. But doing everything with 2d sprites is going to be terrible if you are aiming at a nice looking game. I'd actually add something original to this top down zombie survival game, like procedural mapping system, or random weapons (like in borderlands but better). Something to make me play this game instead of every other. You can leave all the art stuff because I am p sure you still have a lot of time to develop some art skill, or an idea about the art direction. Good luck!
I could probably make that easy, and I suck.
It's an unfinished game, and the name is already in use.

Its a piss take, well more like an in joke with some of the class
Looks good rich. It's a bit more impressive to me 'cause I remember you posting about it in WAYWO, so I know you worked hard on it. Good job bro
This is really bad for "a few months". Could have been done in flash easily.
Nice
What was it programmed in?

But this wouldnt be your first project.
This was my first proper project
Yeah if you're going to have a cartoony style, it at least needs to be a good cartoony style instead of blue squares with black circles for eyes.
Also if you can do 3D you should at least make the buildings and objects in the game world 3D like the old GTAs for example. Should be pretty easy since the building would be basically a cube and that along with a new art style could make it a very nice looking game.
As it stands now, I could make something equal to this in probably a few hours in just Game Maker.

The few months also included learning C# from pretty much nothing

If it's just a "learning/practice game" then I wouldn't make a thread on it
The programming section would be better for constructive criticism rather than "this sucks" which is about as good as it gets in GGD
Programmer art if I ever did see it.
Looks like it has promise, get some nice sprites, sounds and environments and you might have something worthwhile.

Yes but he's probably proud of it and wants to see what other people think of it
May not have been the best idea coming to facepunch to show it but, learn from mistakes right?
I think he's got a good base, it just needs someone to spruce up the art

Being a game i thought it would be more apropriet to put it in here, but i guess your right.
If any mods see this can you move it into the programming section?

Shit like this is not constructive at all.
He's posting a game he made for his first XNA uni project, critiquing is cool, but most of you guys are just bein' dicks for some reason.
Probably was a mistake to post this in GGD, but let me congratulate you on completing a project!
Hope the uninformed remarks from GGD'ers didn't mar the feeling of accomplishment.

Oh that explains why all these idiots are posting in this thread. Didn't realise it was moved from GGD.
