This thread is for you to post programming news that interests you or others in the Facepunch programming community, and why it matters. This is not for news from your own projects, see WAYWO for that. I guess I'll start off: Boost.Nowide is requesting a review in the Boost mailing list. If it gets a formal review, and accepted then writing Unicode applications in Windows while being portable will be possible. I'd cite this but it's not in the archives yet. To be honest, I don't really see what the point of this is with /r/programming and HN around.
To be honest, I don't really see what the point of this is with /r/programming and HN around.
It's Facepunch orientated, for our interests. Since we're basically a small community it'd be interesting to see what we all find exciting and interesting outside of our own projects. NoWide obviously isn't going to get upvoted in r/programming. Neither would any OpenGL tidbits and things.
I think this is useful. I completely missed the Dreamspark release of Windows 8 and VS 2012.
https://news.ycombinator.com/news
It's real shit tho. So many SoCal startup drama and crap, it's not even funny.
Torque3D repo. [editline]21st September 2012[/editline] Aside from the repo containing possible UNIX code, AskPatents!

In other news, the future of OpenGL on Linux is being discussed (or has been): http://youtu.be/LesAb4sTXgA
