Someone good with Python & Raptor that can help out a knobbie??

Hello, I am not a complete programming tard but I don't really know what the commands are in Python and I have to build modular programs but am not sure of the functions or commands, etc.

With Raptor being a flowchart program, I'm even more confused because I can't just type away - shapes n stuff are involved! I don't understand when to use an assignment/call symbol, or the syntax involved, etc.

I'm not asking for someone to do the work because then I won't learn anything, I'm only interested in links links to commands possibly? Or someone that can just clear up a few questions I have because I really need to get the ball rolling with this and "shown the way".
