Hello all in here.
I am a beginner at all this website stuff. So i am gonna ask in here, what i need is an easy to set up system. Where i can upload and download files. So that i can pass a link around to people where they can download or upload files.
so get dropbox?
First of all, you want a web-server. You can either choose to purchase and setup your own Dedicated Server/VPS or select shared hosting from a web-hosting company.
Next thing you want to do is to look into HTML and PHP. To me it looks like you want to start a file sharing service, which is not permitted from a shared hosting plan so that's out of the window.

Depending on what it is you wish to do with your website, such as the size of the files you want to upload, and the legality of such files, a shared hosting account from DeRoyalServers should be able to handle your website without much risk or issue of being suspended.
Intense file sharing websites are not allowed on most shared hosting networks, but if you simply intend to share web documents, text files, or other fairly small and non-intrusive services, you should be okay to go. Just as long as what you're uploading doesn't infringe any intellectual copyrights or trademarks.

I all ready have a web server at Vilayer. I just want to be able to pass around minecraft mods, save files and similar stuff. Nothing big. Its because we are starting our own Minecraft community

Then, you're basically looking for a script that'll let you and your community upload and download mods?
I'm fairly certain you can do something like that with PHPBB3 forums. Just add attachments and such. (that's what Allied Modders is doing)

rather than going through that annoying kid up there, I figured I'd make ya a very basic script. As long as you have som sort of hosting, you can use it. There is no security to it at all so anyone really could go to your page and use it, but you could secure it using .htaccess. i'm just providing a basic script with no support. it'll let you upload your files to a folder and has a link that would go into that folder. pretty easy to understand. anyway, here it is.
