• Need a decent reccomendation for a VPS

Okay I am in desperate need of a VPS, I don't need it to be very powerful, just enough to host a website/database and a server that can accept and receive connections on a port while me and a friend develop the application. I have little to no money at the moment until i get paid so the cheaper the better. I know some of you facepunchers have your own VPS hosting companies or you know those that do so i just want a decent recommendation from someone. I only need about 125MB of RAM and less than 200MB of storage. CPU only needs to be fast enough to handle about 10 concurrent connections.
Should take a look at RamNode or DigitalOcean. I use DigitalOcean and love it! I know RamNode is excellent too being a previous customer. :)
Are you entirely certain that you'd require a VPS to host your application? Certain networks, DeRoyalServers included, are more than capable of providing the specs listed on a shared hosting infrastructure. Just search for a developer-focused hosting provider. (opening up a port isn't that much of a hassle, either) DeRoyalServers has a free trial program available, so you could freely test our services out for a full 30 days, just to see if we've got what you'd require. If we're not able to host your application, simply cancel your service before the trial runs out. No risks or commitments. (note: you'll have to contact us regarding your port, so we can open it for you, if it isn't open already) That is, of course, assuming that you're simply looking for a low-end VPS for the guaranteed specifications. If you need root access to the server, we unfortunately cannot provide that. In which case, you'll want a VPS. http://deroyalservers.com/ - Ty H.

I need root SSH access so I doubt a shared hosting service is going to work, The application uses lighttpd and most shared hosts use apache unfortunately. I will check out some of the others though, thanks

Digital Ocean is also very reliable, and would be my second pick. Also, if you ever require standard hosting services, we'd be glad to host ya. :) (just saying ) Good luck with your future VPS. :)
Chiming in to suggest Hexxeh's VPS' which I've been using for nearly 2 years, Afterburst and RamNode would also be good suggestions from what I've seen.
Throw me a PM with your specs and I can give you a discount on a VPS.
I've used both Hexxeh's and Afterburst, no issues on either. My main screw-around VPS is with Afterburst right now.
I use digitalocean, best cheapish vps provider I have used. Linode are better but more expensive.
Went with digitalocean in the end, thanks for all the suggestions.
