Hey guys do you perhaps know the solution to this math thing. I need the solution for this. S is the spine of the wing, A is direction of lift, V is velocity. The s's and v's are the known variables. I need to know the 'a' variable.

2 solutions? For what? Do you want it solved for a1, a2 and a3? We need a bit more info as the general solutions for a2, a2 and a3 are kinda ridiculous.

I mean you can just use the first formula for a1 then it's a simple system of 2 equations after that (if you sub in a1), but it still seems a bit odd. What are you trying to achieve?

I go to math school and this is insane.
A simplified view is that the first two equations each define a plane. Their intersection being a line. The last equation defines a sphere of radius 1 around the center. The intersection of the line and the sphere gives you the two solutions.

Hm... wasn't this the normal form of planes in the OP?
In that case the solutions are a = ±(v x s)/||v x s||.
However this answer is incomplete since it disregards edge cases (which are blowing up chaz13's general answer) and contains insufficient explanation regarding how to arrive there.
(I won't supply them since this looks suspiciously like homework. The above is still a really big hint but the complete solution should require examining the problem thoroughly enough to understand it completely.)
