• Paying for a plugin : Oculus Rift plugin for DarkBasic Pro
    9 replies, posted
Hello everybody. Let's get to the chase. I need an Oculus Rift plugin made for DarkBasic Pro. Will probably pay for it. I know DBPro is an old tool, but I'm really comfortable with it. The plugin should be written in C++. I think you can adapt it from Oculus SDK or something. Anybody might consider making it?

I'd hate to tell you, but you really should just start learning a more modern engine, as I'm sure you're aware, DBP is extremely old and outdated, maybe next to Dark Basic. I'd recommend Unity or UE4.
Am I correct in assuming DBPro only works on DX9? Because then you won't get very far.

I recommend just learning something new as dbPro is so old and slow it isn't really worth using at this point in time, especially for VR.

Hey everybody. I took a look at the development of DirectX11 plugin for DarkBasic Pro, and its seems like its doing well. Still, is there anybody who's willing to make a Oculus Rift plugin for DBPro? I'm not an expert on the matter, but I think most of the job consists of making a wrapper for Oculus commands using the preexisting Oculus SDK. Here's the tutorial for making DBPro plugins. Please consider taking on this job  http://www.kistech.com/dbpro/dlltutorial/ http://www.evl.uic.edu/julieta/thesign/Dll_Tutorial_1.html
Nobody's using your dead platform for VR work, you should implement it yourself, or it will never be done.
