• How much caffeine do you drink?

As I was making my ritualistic cup of coffee this morning I wondered to myself exactly how much other programmers drink. I usually have either one or two cups, but I need that first cup to really function.
Many people at my job also needs their first cup of coffee to start the day. I've never even tried coffee in my life and I work just fine from the get-go. They don't seem to understand how I can even function without coffee, it's hilarious.
i fuckin love coffee, it goes bad with having high blood pressure though, one bad day I drank two cups in a row and my head was trying to explode for the next 5 hours
most days are just water or beer but if I go out to eat I'll have some sweet tea.
I drink usually 2.5 cups. Some days I don't even drink coffee and I am perfectly fine, some days I need 6 to function ok.
Because if you are addicted to caffeine and stop, you need weeks to return to normal state.
It's worth it though. I drink coffee in bursts instead of daily so I don't get too addicted and feel that boost instead of going from shit to normal.

Im trying to drink less caffeine. I'm used to drinking like 1 cup a day or 1 red bull a day. I switched to alcohol recently though

32oz every morning.
I drink about 2-3 redbulls a day plus coffee depending on if my co-workers want to go to starbucks.
Do you know alcohol causes your erections to be weaker, right?
Wow you felt it last night too?
Wow you felt it last night too?
Not last night, but once I was drunk I couldn't press space properly. :v:.
I have to be up for work at 5:30a, so I'll grab a coffee or a blended mixed-energy drink on my way to work quite often.
I'm not so regular with my caffeine consumption. Some days, I don't have any for the whole day. Other times (usually at work) I have one "coffee equivalent" during the day, two if it's a Friday. So that'd equal about 0.7 a day, I think.
I consume various sodas instead of coffee for my sugar/caffeine addiction.
I've never had caffeine in my life
I make myself a slightly oversized cup of coffee every morning, but I've never been very sensitive to caffeine so I don't really feel any different on the occasional day when I skip the coffee.
I've never had caffeine in my life
you ever had coca-cola / coke? green/black tea? some sweets also have caffeine [editline]25th March 2016[/editline]
I make myself a slightly oversized cup of coffee every morning, but I've never been very sensitive to caffeine so I don't really feel any different on the occasional day when I skip the coffee.
this is the best
I try to stay away from soda. It's usually coffee or water for me.
1-2 cups of coffee on weekend, 0-1 coffee on the weekend. Coke or iced tea a few days a week.
None. Starting senior year of college, caffeine gives me panic attacks. I cut out all coffee and soda now, and frankly it's for the best.
never really drank caffeine, couldn't afford coffee, not a fan of the taste either if I'm feeling insanely sleepy i either simply power through it or accidentally fall asleep it doesn't help that i get 4 hours of sleep for most of the week [editline]24th March 2016[/editline] actually i should probably sleep now
I drink a lot of coffee.
I usually have five cups a day, but I've been trying to replace my afternoon coffee with hot chocolate since I have been feeling a bit too alert after work some days.
For some reason, since like 6 months ago, I almost completely stopped drinking coffee (except takeaway) and replaced it with black tea...
Sincerely, my only link with time, is bound through my periodic consumption of coffee. [editline]25th March 2016[/editline] Which, due to the inherent effects of caffeine; can be a real fucker.
I start my day off with a quad espresso, then after lunch I will either drink a doppio or triple depending on my mood. After dinner I'll have a doppio and sometimes I'll take a single shot before I go to sleep. Believe me or not it sometimes helps me sleep, contrary to what it does with 99% of normal coffee drinkers. No sugar, no milk, just plain espresso. After all, the more coffee you give a programmer, the more code it can spit out in one sitting.
