So I now have the LEGO Movie videogame on my computer but unfortunately all the data files are in a .DAT format, so no way to get the models unpacked from them from what I can tell. So I've resulted to trying to grab models using 3D Ripper DX. This works great...the only issue and we know it all too well are skewed models. Is there any way to fix this in a 3D program afterwards easily? I just started using 3D Ripper DX so not sure if I am even using it right. I was gonna use ninja ripper on a few lego games like lord of the rings, batman, and harry potter. I'll perhaps do a minifig pack. (and the lego balrog)
Does Ninja Ripper do a better job of extracting the maps and models instead of 3DRipperDX?, I mean if it can extract without trying to make the models look squashed I'll give it a try.

However you pretty much need to import an entire scene then clear out the stuff you dislike. Not to mention sometimes the textures screw up.

All I've seen are Boba Fett & Stormtrooper models that were left as props and scaled to "collectable statue" scale for standard ragdolls. Would be nice to get some characters in there. Would also be nice to see how easy they would be to customize with what the games give us. Would leave a good window of opprotunity to, say, recreating other characters who haven't had appearances in the modern games. Also to the OP, hope you can extract good character models. Would love to see some of the LEGO Movie's characters, Emmet and Johnny Thunder especially.

Already know for sure i have a minifig of Emmet captured. Trying to find which textures belong to the model at the moment. Going to try this Ninja Ripper program later today.
If you use the 3D Ripper plugin for 3DS Max, it will let you import with the proper FOV ratio and settings so it will fix skewing most of the time. [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] 3D Ripper will probably be better for the buildings, NinjaRipper for the minifigs.
Used Ninja RIpper on Lego LOTR a while back as a test. Imports the minifigs perfectly but they aren't t-posed, their arms are down. Like a normal LEGO fig in default position. Guess it was easier to model them that way.
Well as of right now I cannot get any farther in the game and I'm waiting to hear back from WB Tech Support. Emmet fixes a zipline, and he goes across, but the other 2 characters just keep jumping to their death with no way to fix the problem. Hoping I'll get a response back from them with a patch to fix the issue.
