• Change hands model or skin?

Hey Facepunch, Is it possible to have a first person model use a different model for v_hands (one in a different directory). Or is it possible to assign multiple skins to the hand model and change them when the player deploys the weapon or something? Thanks for any help.
Those hands are only used for function that's called when the HEV suit is equipped. All of the weapon v_ models include their own hands and arms.
So it's already part of the reference model for the v_ models?
The hands of a model are already in the reference. Example: If you want to replace those hands, what you'd need to do is find hands that and rig them to the ValveBiped skeleton on the weapon. Thats the only possible way I can think of. If you want to replace the hands/arms of the ar2, smg etc it's going to be slightly trickier, due to the fact that Valve optimized them and they don't exactly use the v_hands.mdl you can find in the GCF. Atleast this is the only way I can think of, I might be wrong though. After the rerigging nothing else has to be done but compiling.
Would I really have to re-rig it? Right now I'm using 3ds Max 2011 and I'm sure with such a new version it has to have some sort of feature that allows me to import a model which already has the same bones but a different model.
