• Compiling Wings3D model

I'm guessing this could be considered a request. I modeled this door for my map in wings3d, but since wings3d doesn't have an .smd export feature, what can I do to get it compiled. I exported an .obj of the file and installed XSI, but I can't figure out that program for the life of me. Install the valve plug-in thing for XSI (its in the files somewhere you have to search for it with the plug-in installer thing, while the program is open, very confusing I know) then export -> SMD reference then your done. Alternatively use this to turn your .obj into a .smd then compile as normal (you do know how to compile right?) Though bare in mind the material file its looking for (and that is singular only) seems to be renamed to whatever the .obj file was called that you used to make the .smd (not what you called it in your modelling program).
Ok, well I ended up exporting the .smd with blender, but in game it's missing textures. I imported the .obj in blender. Exported the .smd's. Made the .qc and idle.smd. Did I miss something, probably something in Blender.
Did you have the materials applied when you exported? Are the .vmt paths leading to the right location?
When I render it in Blender the textures appear on it. And the .vmt's seem fine to me. Could it be looking for a different .vmt name?
Ok I fixed it, I ended up rexporting the .obj as a different name after changing the name of the Material. It works now, If anyone wants it message me.
