• How do you import gmod model files to xsi mod tool?

I got XSI Mod Tool today, but I am wondering how do you and is it possible to import models already made from Garry's mod like Alyx's model and edit it? If so please tell.
When you launch Modtool. A window will come up called NetView... Look in there and look for valve source... when you see that click on that and follow the link to get the (valvsource addon). That will enable Modtool to import and export .smd as well as come with some premade models to work from (HL2 models).. all you need to do is drag and drop the valve source addon into the xsi window to install the addon. In order to import models from the different source games you have to use GCFScape to find the models you want to use... then get mdldecompiler.. decompile the models and that will give you that models .smd files as well as the .qc from that model... then go into xsi and click on valvesource at the top and click import smd... then find your file thats it... do your editing then export and compile.

You need to decompile the .mdl's with mdldecompiler then you can easily import the smd's into xsi. But you'd be better off making your own models and figuring out how they work.
