I'm trying to figure out enough about 3d max just to simply rig a head on a models body. But I cant even export an mdl properly it seams. While using mdl decompiler I've bumped into an error messages.
The Procedure entry point Q_AppendSlash could not be located in dynamic link library vsdlib.dll.
Any help?
You have to put mdldecompiler.exe in your /bin/ folder with your other source tools and vstlib.dll. If you search your steam folder for vstlib.dll you'll see what I mean.
It's in there. I read it has problems with the new sdk. I also tried GUIStudioMDL but when i point that to my sdk/bin/ep1/bin. It says im missing something like, gameconfig.txt. I looked it up and people said you get that if you havent started the game up, but I've played the game.
refresh sdk content
untick all the boxes in mdldecompiler
make sure it's in C:\Steam\steamapps\asfdsfda\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin
you might have to use a hex editor to make the decompiler believe the model is the right version (i forgot how :l)
try again.
For some reason txt files for ep1 were in orange box even though I dont own it... I got it to work though. Thanks

I decompiled a few other models and it works fine... any help? I really wanted to use this models head...
