New on this sub, hi. Seems like there's no megathread or anything so,
I'm looking for a good free renderer for 3ds Max. I have some future models I just want good images of.
I looked around online but get mixed views, some say mental ray goes well and others just suggest every other renderer out there. So what are the most popular choices?

Yeah, if you're into game development, Marmoset Toolbag is your best choice. It supports the new pipelines as well as the old ones. It's not free, but as far as tools go, it's not too expensive either.
Corona is free and really nice.
