I have a few ragdolls I made and I have no clue on how to rig them into player models. Now i'm not asking for someone to rig models for me I just can't find any info on rigging player models for the source engine that is not old/outdated or uses expensive software such as 3ds max. I would really appreciate it if some one could help or send me to sites that would guide me through the steps of rigging player models.

Also would this work for a preexisting source ragdoll or does it need to be in the original model format?
Because the ragdoll I made was compiled straight to a source compatible ragdoll. (Hopefully you can understand what i'm saying.)
Technically it shouldn't matter. If it's already source compatible then that just makes it easier.

Well the thing is, is that its already a .mdl and I am not sure if there is a way to import it into blender and edit the qc. And if I cant to that how would I export it to mdl, because im currently using fuse character creator and I can export straight to gmod or I can use .dae for blender.
Would I need a addon for blender to export to a source compatible format?
Ah, okay. First you need Crowbar to decompile the MDL and Blender Source Tools to import the SMD.
Sorry, but for this you need to learn how to compile models manually. I was going to link a good beginner's tutorial on GB but they've reshuffled the place and I can't find it anymore.

So there's no way to automatically compile it to a mdl?
It's not that easy unfortunately. You need to export your models as SMD and make a QC.
^ how about player leg not on the ground (look like flying) , there a qc command for fix that ?
If you mean their legs don't touch the ground but they have proper animations and such, try messing with $ikchain.

So I figured out how to convert smd to mdl but where can I find the male_01.mdl? I looked through all the vpk's and there was nothing and I went through all the files paths and there was nothing.
