The strap on the Radar isnt necessary.
Thought these would be cool to have, and they didnt seem like they would be too tough to model.
Interesting idea, I may have a go at doing the Dragonballs, if I can figure out how to model the stars (as I haven't really modelled anything from scratch before...successfully). The Radar though would be alot harder to model (as it would need to be more detailed to be worth having and would be better with an animated screen).
These would be nice to go with that Bulma model i found yesterday... ^^
An animated screen sounds pretty cool, but beggars cant be choosers so i'll take anything i can get.

You could probably use the Dead Ringer as a Dragon Radar base.

Something to do with the TF2 Spy as I understand it, it looks like a pocket watch so I can see what their getting at, but i don't know what it does myself (having not played TF2 more than once).

It's a item you can equip on the spy that feigns death when you are attacked.
Ya the Dead Ringer looks like it would be a pretty good base to begin with, the Radar is only slightly larger. I think it would be wise if I included some images that indicate the scale:

The stars don't even need to be sticking out. (If that's what you meant)
They can just be part of the texture.

They are actually inside them though, if they were done on a texture it wouldn't look right at all (in my opinion). Would be much better if they were actually modeled inside the sphere and then have a semi transparent sphere for the actual ball. All i'd need is one star and I could make the rest myself dead easily. Also how would I go about decompiling the dead ringer (is that what the model is even called?) does it just need the idst0 changing to idst, ? (as thats what i've read you have to do).
I'll make the radar and upload the file to a free file-hosting site. You can then get it into Source.
Hey, I just had an idea- you know how in Episode 2 you had that radar in your car that detected those rebel beacons? What if you could transfer that system to this hand-held radar? Cool idea? This has a lot of possibilities beyond dragon ball radar.
Cool, i'll happily port it for you ^^ I have no idea of what this rebel beacon radar is, but we'd need someone to replicate it as a SWEP/SENT unfortunately :( (unless you can reference scripts like that)

Still needs some work but I think they're pretty good for a first try at modelling something like that :D (The Dragon Balls).
(I tried to lay out the Dragon Balls how they are in the first reference pic, which is also what I used as the reference for the stars :P)
Well the balls are a little large, but thats my fault as i forgot to include a scale pic for the balls as well. They are roughly the size of a baseball. Other than that though they look awesome, nice work.

Yea that was my first compile of them at 0.1 scale (as the actual model is huge :P) so I will do them at 0.05 scale next i think and hopefully figure out what i can do to fix the shine and stuff for the textures.
