I know the title isn't really the best of description but my problem is that I want to add a .PNG picture to a model.
The model is a chain link fence and I have a .PNG picture of a seamless chain link fence texture with the parts you wouldn't see cut off. But when I add it to the model it gives grey/black parts in the middle of the chain links.
How can I fix this?

Do you want to port it later to game? or do you want it just to be seen in 3Ds max?

You need an alpha channel in the spaces, then put $transparent I believe in the .vmt. It won't work with other formats btw.
