• Retexturing a model's duplicated side

I followed the Adding Extra Skins to Existing Models tutorial, which rocks. I added some logos to a Delivery Van model that came from the L4D Crash Course DLC. They duplicate one side and flip it. It's been suggested to me that I need to mess with the UV mapping. I'm decent at hacking models but a newb at anything else. I have 3ds Max 2010. Can someone point me to a good tutorial or give me some advice? thanks, tron
Wow, pretty good skins. The only way you're gonna be able to fix the UVW's is by decompiling the model.
Yeah, yeah. I get that. I had to decompile them to add the additional skins. What's next? Am I on the right track with the UV mapping? Is there a a tutorial or something that will help? Thanks. tron
umm.. wheres that tut XD im interested too
Decompile the model, import the reference model into 3dsmax, apply the "Unwrap UVW" modifier, select the mirrored face, click "edit UVW map", mirror that face in it's current position on the UV map, save and export the reference model, recompile.
Thanks, HM! I'll give these steps a try. tron
