• Shadow of Mordor- Sauron and his Uruks +maxscript link

In the wake of Shadow of Mordor and the new DLC "The Bright Lord", I'm hoping that someone could rip into the game and pull out the model of Sauron and his Uruk soldiers. Would love to make some High Fantasy themed pics/videos of Sauron's new look. I'm also digging the effect for when he attacks, he glows a bright, fiery-orange. I'll post the maxscript for the game here in case anyone needs it. Wasn't someone already working on Sauron?
Last I checked no. Someone brought up having the model, but didn't have the textures. THEN the same person reported that something was wrong with the bone weights or something like that. I recommended that he should seek out a pro at fixing the issue here but haven't heard back. Also the game runs on a modified LithTech Engine for the Nemesis System, Autodesk Scaleform, and PathEngine if that means something.
Neat. I don't have the DLC, but thank you for bringing the script and tools to my attention. I may have to look into ripping from the game. It's too damn pretty not to. I haven't finished the game yet, so I don't know if Sauron is in the base game, but if he is, I'll certainly try my best to get him into Source. [editline]taco[/editline] Wait damn, apparently you need a Xentax account to download the script, and if I recall correctly, there's hoops you have to jump through to register. Any kind souls willing to mirror the script? :v:
The dlc i think was implemented in the game via 8GB update. Last i checked, the dlc was 1mb when i bought it.

Or maybe they just opened it up temporarily and that's when I got in... Anyhow, try creating an account on there now- if you still have to pay or whatever I'll mirror you the script(s) when I have the time later.

If it were still happening, I'm pretty sure quite a few people (myself included) would have signed up by now.
Aaah ok, guess I just got lucky then. Here's the import script: http://www.mediafire.com/download/d5yopdybmao1jo1/Shadow_of_Mordor.7z Do you guys need the extraction tools as well, or can you get to those without an account?
The link that maddogsamurai provided in the OP has another link to something called .arch05 Explorer (the download repository for it can be found here), which seems to be the only program that's included in the other link. Assuming .arch05 Explorer isn't the only thing needed, it would probably be a good idea. I'm not seeing anything else mentioned in either of the xentax threads though, so I think that might be all that's required.
Cool. Did you try anything with the script Gmod4ever? were there any problems with the bones or anything with the models like the other guy?
Cool. So I'm guessing that we'll need the extraction tool, or extracting another folder? Edit: I only have it for PS4, so there's not much I can do.
Bump. Any ideas on what could be the problem, or that we might need someone to step up and try this?
Bump again. Can anyone try to see if they can at least get Sauron and all of his stuff like the ring and his mace?

How'd you manage to get Sauron in the first place? From what Gmod4ever said, the tools are a mess to get what you want from the game files. Could you also post pics of the model?

Was hoping for it to contain a skeleton of sorts along with his mace. I also found this on the Xentax forum related to the Shadow of Mordor .arch05: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12035&hilit=sauron There's got to be a better way to rip from this game.

The game itself is 64-bit only (which pretty much throws Ninjaripper out of the question since it's 32-bit only from what I can remember), and the current method doesn't seem to yield much in terms of results (at least from what I've seen). I don't recall anyone else working on a better method at this time either, so I don't think we'll see any other methods very soon.

You did your best in trying to get Sauron, now I think what we can do is try to use to use new methods with the old tools used to rip Shadow of Mordor. They say the maxscript and extraction tools don't do much, but I think that it can still work.

While I unfortunately can't contribute to the effort, I just want to say that I'll be really happy if anyone manages to port both the Uruks, Orcs and Sauron himself to Source or similar engines.
Great work, but we still need to rip the textures, bump maps, and his mace from the game. Hopefully getting those won't be too difficult as getting the while thing.
