• D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die Models?

i played the 1st episode on Xbox One a while back, they just released a Demo for the PC release today, i downloaded it but can't figure out how to get any models from the game, all i really want is David Young, the main character of the game. i tried using 3D Ripper DX (which crashes the program on launch) and Ninjaripper (which doesn't do anything when i press the hotkeys) the game uses DirectX 11 and runs with Unreal Engine so i would think it's very possible, but can't figure out where the actual files are even, maybe because it's just the demo version right now? any ideas?
If it runs on the Unreal engine, you might just have to wait until Gildor releases an updated version of uModel to actually get the model.
Current version of umodel seems to work with the demo already. I haven't found any character models yet, just props and whatnot but none of the files have caused errors or anything. Edit: Found some character models (don't know anyone's name in the game). Everything seems to be in working order.

[editline]30th May 2015[/editline] Nevermind i found them, but all mine is doing is either saying "there's no visual object loaded now. press <o> to load a different package" or just random blocks with different colors when it does load an object

I've usually only ever encountered that issue when I was using an outdated copy of uModel.
Not all the files have usable stuff. Especially if you tell umodel not to load certain thing (like animations or lightmaps). Loading a package that contains nothing viewable will give you that message. The files with the characters in them start with "cnf" or "cmf". You can tell umodel to only show meshes and cycle through that way. Much easier to locate what you're looking for if you don't have to wade through 100s of textures :D Latest umodel is 14 May 2015. It's what I used to open the files.
Just tried that, i have the same version the date says 5/14/2015, i narrowed it down and had 28 .cnf files, and 3 .cmf files, ALL 28 of the .Cnf files gave me that message saying nothing was viewable, and the 3 .cmf files were random NPC's
You can also use the "Tools" dropdown and select "Scan content" for umodel to scan and list which packages have Skeletal Meshes and how many in said package.

I Found them, but they're labeled cnm, haven't found the main character yet though, and how do i get textures to apply in 3ds max or blender?
Okay i found what i was doing wrong and found the character i want but he doesn't have the right costume, i can't find his default outfit, i already tried navigating through all of his meshes or files he has, he only has 2 and neither is the right one?
David's default model is in cpl01_SF.upk. The cnf and cnm files are major NPCs, cmf and cmm are nameless generic NPCs.

After some more digging around, it appears that, though cpl01_SF.upk does contain a complete David model, it isn't technically his in-game model. Because David can have alternate clothing items, he's actually made up of multiple models of his various body parts, which get assembled into a full model in game. His constituent pieces are all the cpl01 files with longer names and smaller file sizes. Amanda works the same way: The cnf03 files contain pieces of Amanda, though only the pieces of her default outfit are present in the demo files. They also each have a file labelled "cmn" (common?) which contains a single polygon. This is probably a placeholder or something, like it's the "base" model that the character's pieces get attached to. There's also a cnf02_cmn_SF and a cnm01_cmn_SF with no associated pieces present, which I'm sure are for Olivia and Kaysen, respectively.
