When you edited the texture, you replaced all instances of that texture name in the game's folder, right? You also didn't change the name of the texture you edited?
When you edited the texture, you replaced all instances of that texture name in the game's folder, right? So what ive done is that i took the texture, i changed it as i show u, and i replace the original texture by the edited one, ive replace tbe name and all.
When you say you replaced the name, do you mean that you replaced the name with a different one, or that you renamed the file to be exactly like the file that you were originally replacing with the example texture above?

The original name was something like ak74.vmt and the new file is called ak74.vmt. Exactly the same
You replaced the .vtf too, right?
You replaced the .vtf too, right?
Well. This is creapy because when i export my texture with vtf edit, i only get the texture file ( i dont remember if its the vtf or the vmt). I think im suppose to get two file.
No. vmt's are text-based and you can change it in Notepad if you wanted to.
No. vmt's are text-based and you can change it in Notepad if you wanted to.
Ok so i only get vtf file on exporting. No vmt. So is this the reason why its not working ?
Ok so i only get vtf file on exporting. No vmt. So is this the reason why its not working ?
If the edited .VTF isn't stored in the same location and using the same file name as defined by the $basetexture line in your .VMT file, the .VMT won't be able to find it, which will result in the model not being able to use the texture; this usually results in the model taking on a purple-black checkered pattern when it can't find the texture (which is Source's universal "I CAN'T FIND MY SHIT!!!" error for missing/improperly named/misplaced .VTF textures). The .VMT itself, which should have come with the model that you're editing the texture for, should still be in its appropriate location; moving, renaming, or deleting this can actually lead to similar issues that bring up the aforementioned error.

[editline]18th May 2015[/editline] I dont understand why this is not working because everything has been mad well. Do you need to change some thing in the vmt file ? Or maybe i should try to use a texture more basic to see if where is this coming from ?
Yeah. I have a feeling your texture change is on an non-visible part of the weapon
Yeah. I have a fe feeling your texture change is on an non-visible part of the weapon
I let me try to use an other texture to see if its working Not working... Same
Any other idea about why its not working ? Note that the texture is not changing. Its still the same every time. No missing texture
Delete the texture a together. Does it becoming missing?
Try share the original weapon with textures here along with your custom texture, and I'll take a look :)
