Searching through the internet for ways of porting models from the original source to source 2, i was able to stumble upon this. Decided to share it to everyone

The model importing side of Source 2 is way more complicated then its competitors, it's pretty disappointing. I'm hoping they'll automate a bit more to make things less of a pain when the engine goes 'official' - right now, there's no reason I'd consider focusing on source as a dev platform other then the fact that it's source - for what that's worth nowadays.

Actually, some guys were able to port stuff from source 1 pretty easily, its mostly the animations are the sort of hard part.
I'm sure that if the new Model Editor had a plain text/code editor mode it would help a lot. My model porting tests for Source 2 were mostly done by editing the vmdl files with notepad since doing it in the editor would take too much time to adjust all animations parameters.
