[highlight]I DONT CHECK THIS THREAD ANYMORE, IF YOU HAVE LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS PLEASE PM ME[/highlight] Well the sonic playermodels currently out there are old as shit, so I decided to create sonic playermodels for the current build of the source engine. Super Sonic DONE! Tails DONE! HEV sonic DONE! my sonic models are from super smash bros brawl and my tails model is from sonic unleashed deal with it I will update this thread periodically as i progress. ________________________________________________________ 10/14/10 thread posted 10/16/10 started editing the normal sonic mesh to fit the old skeleton 10/18/10 7:46 PM weighting sonic Done! Taking damage, driving a vehicle, switching to a camera or third person can cause jigglebones to rotate 180 degrees and they fix and re orient themselves as spontainiously as they break (occasionally dying will fix them) this is a problem with the engine itself and i will email valve and facepunch about the problem 1/14/11 5:57 (EST) DONE!!! so far the hardest part has been trying to find an exporter from gmax to XSI that DOSENT dump all of the texture data luckily i found one that works about half the time and thats good enough for me

Cool! Please, no matter what opposing comments people make, do not quit this. I don't expect you to get this done in a week, but don't give up. I support you and finishing these models!
awesome man, hope you keep on this, the sonic player models definitely could use an update considering these current ones are way outdated. good luck and hope to see more on this
You should keep the ragdoll stable, and capable of posing.

V2 models flip the fuck out though.

Looks pretty good, hope the face flexes get human bones (bones used by the Citizens for example, Alyx has these too)
Seeing this is awesome. I hope you finish it and do what I couldn't do: Give GMod some decent Sonic Player models. When I first "made" V1, I only had a lua script to make them accessible on the menu. Then, once people kept complaining about how they couldn't figure out where the models were I made V2 and included the models I found. It's a good thing I did, as far as I know the models I used are now off the site except for my V2... Anyway, I hope you succeed, my friend. And eventually, maybe make some NPCs.

You're on the internet, not in school. Grammar doesn't really make a whole lot of difference as long as you get what someone's saying. As for sonic, a lot of people grew up with sonic. It doesn't really make them immature to want to see their childhood icons as non-glitchy player models. I'm not even gonna get into the whole "faggot characters after sonic & knuckles" thing. yes i agree the characters after s&k were not on the same level of quality as the earlier characters, but that by no means makes them "faggots". That's all a matter of opinion and you're intitled to yours, but its better to keep those to yourself (not that you should as that's up to you) cause then you just come off as the "asshole" type. <<;; rant over. anyways back on topic.. shad0w, status update? how's the texture issue going. quick edit: any more off topic replies i'll make sure not to respond to, lets keep this thread about the player models and try not to stir away from that.
Havent updated this thread in a week... been too busy wokin on the models made pictures smaller :)

for some reason the range animations and reload animations (which are only supposed to affect the upper part of the body) affect the whole model and i tried making a weightlist and it dident work
