I have found the fix for the text bug. Download ATI Tray Tools. Now right click on the tray icon and go to "3D", "Additional Options" then tick "Alternate pixel centers". Thats it, go into Hammer it's all normal. Brilliant fix. Now I can use my other system for mapping too.
finally... thanks. wait nvm, it fixes that, but it fucked up the model browser text.
Damn yeh just saw that myself, I don't know how to fix that. It will have to either be a nice grid numbers or normal model browser.
switch it when your going into the model browser
switch it when your going into the model browser
That's an awful lot of extra clicking everytime you want to switch between the 2.
Or use the standard model browser instead of the VGUI one?
Or use the standard model browser instead of the VGUI one?
Can you preview the model with the standard model browser?
What bug are you talking about?
Can you preview the model with the standard model browser?
As long as it has a picture assigned to it, yes.
Are you sure you found this by yourself? This has been posted for a while now. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=903548 It also fucks up the text in source games.
Sorry for that video post, was a bit wonky that night.
Crashes hammer and source games on startup with these tray tools turned on... Win 7, 64 bit, 7100 build.
The only reason why someone should buy an ATI card, is because.. Erm... Nvm
Nothing wrong with ATI.
Nothing at all.
Getting great preformance from this card, just a tiny issue here... :v And the fix does work if I turn the tools off... Contacted Ray Adams (Author of said tools) to see if there's something we can do. He suggested using a Game Profile. (He uses hammer too. :v:) Can someone set this up and try it? Hammer crashes for me if I have the ATT tools open so I can't try it.
Nothing wrong with ATI, but compatibility issues. Altough they come for a good price/quality balance, i stick with NVIDIA
It appears that mine GPU's are nVidia in disguise. I never had those problems.
It's only the 48xx series that have this issue. My 3650 has never caused me any bother.
Confirmed issue on my hd 4670 too. So I guess its 46xx and 48xx?
Confirmed issue on my hd 4670 too. So I guess its 46xx and 48xx?
This is interesting, I remember people claiming their 4xxx cards didn't have the problem, so it's not a 4xxx series problem, but I shall now change my assumptions accordingly.
It's only the 48xx series that have this issue. My 3650 has never caused me any bother.
Not even. 4850 is fine.
You guys should check what graphics processor is on the offending cards. It might just be a simple GPU problem.
This problem has been bugging me for a while (4670). Problem is I don't like the tray tools, I prefer to use RivaTuner (even if it isn't for ATi cards) as I can get monitoring in the tray a bit better, that and Tray Tools don't like Win7 :v:
Ugh I can agree with that last statement. I've given up for now, I'ma just live with it.
I can live with it, though it does get tiresome looking at the distortion for extended periods.
I can live with it, though it does get tiresome looking at the distortion for extended periods.
Nah no problem. Me and the disorted text, have been friends for about 2 months now.
this solution doesn't work for me, well it does, but when I launch games the text is all fucked up.
